It’s November! We’ve turned back the clocks and there’s less daylight. As the sun sets earlier, you may notice your lighting is not up to par. This can be a huge safety issue. Let us help! Not only do we have outdoor lighting solutions, but we have lighting options that are 100% off the grid. Learn about these solar powered lights and more in this month’s edition of the Mountain View. We are highlighting the renewable energy market and key manufacturers leading the charge.

Download our Renewables vertical market line card for all your renewable energy solutions.

We will be closed November 25-26th to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. We are truely grateful for our friends and industry partners. THANK YOU!

MSA Adds to the Team!

Please extend a warm welcome to the newest members of our MSA family. Both Devin and Mark started this November. We are excited to have them at our agency and look forward to introducing them to you all.

Eaton Residential – Solar Power Centers

Eaton’s solar power centers combine both utility power and solar photovoltaic (PV) power into one enclosure. Solar power centers can be applied as a component of a complete PV electrical system. Eaton offers the industry’s most complete line of balance of system (BOS) products, along with a wide variety of configurations, including loadcenters and meter breakers.

The solar power centers feature industry-exclusive, factory installedpermanent markings, which help to ensure National Electrical Code® (NEC®) compliance. Required by the NEC, these markings enable quick and easy identification of product ratings and location of the parallel energy source disconnect. Prior to installation, contact your local utility to confirm approval.

Advanced Digital Cable – Solar PV Cable

Advanced Digital Cable (ADC) was founded in 1997 and began making coaxial cable for the booming digital cable market. Since that time ADC has grown to be a key manufacturer of not only digital coaxial cable but a wide range of cables designed and built for renewable energy applications.

Below we highlighted two cable types we see frequent requests on. For a more detailed look at ADC’s cable offering, click the link below and download ADC’s Renewables Catalog.

2kV Rated PV

ADC’s Solarlink brand Photovoltaic cable has a chemically cross-linked polyethylene insulation.

Applications:

For use in solar power applications that require 2,000 volt rating. For use in grounded interconnection and ungrounded Photovoltaic power systems.

Construction:

Conductors: Stranded bare copper conductor per ASTM B-3, B-8. Available in 7 or 19 stranded versions as well as tinned copper.

Insulation: Chemically cross-linked polyethylene

Colors: Black, Green, White, Red. Print on one side with a contrasting ink. An extruded stripe and other colors are available upon request.

RHW-2 or RHH-2000V

ADC’s RHW-2 or RHH is a single conductor stranded copper insulated with chemically cross-linked polyethylene.

Applications:

Suitable for use in lighting and power applications and for other general purpose wiring applications. Suitable for use in circuits not exceeding 2000 volts. May be installed in raceway, duct, and sunlight resistant applications such as aerial installations.

Construction:

Conductors: Conforms to ASTM B-8 Class B with other classes available upon request.
